Founded in 2008 and located in Cobble Hill, at the border of Brooklyn Heights. the Muriel Guépin Gallery represents both established and emerging artists, with a strong focus on those based in Brooklyn.
The gallery promotes a variety of artists whose work is conceptually sophisticated and visually engaging. The gallery displays a variety of works and mediums ranging from graphic pieces, collages to abstract paintings. Though each artist differs in style, the commonality is seen through the exceptional quality and highly intricate pieces.
Set into the street level of an industrial building, our space has nineteenth century wood beams, metal Corinthian columns, parquet flooring, and exposed bricks. The contrast between the art and the architecture creates a unique juxtaposition between the old and the contemporary and creates a vibrant environment for the artwork. The gallery itself is divided in three sections: the art studio space, the main gallery, and the former elevator shaft, which was transformed into an installation space. With a 12-foot street level window, the dramatic space offers enough room and support to mount larger-scale sculptures, paintings and installations.
Unique to the gallery, are the special projects, monthly artist dinners, talks and studio tours, as we highly believe in making art more accessible to our community and building a strong relationship with our collectors. Our clientele ranges from individuals who are beginning to make their first art purchases, to more mature buyers who appreciate our “eye” for talent and quality.
The Muriel Guépin Gallery‘s ambition is to be a reference in Brooklyn for viewing art of exceptional quality but also for developing and encouraging creativity. In 2010, the gallery launched an ambitious art program for both adults and children.
