All of Cherlyn Wilcox’s abstract paintings have a soft palette and a balanced composition with many layers coming back to the surface to embark viewers into a calming journey. Her process is personal, intuitive and spontaneous. Wilcox always begins with laying down washes of soft colors and organic forms in an unplanned, emotional manner. She allows the paint, lines and color to influence where the next brush stroke or layer will be placed thereby creating a dialogue between the canvas and the paint.
