Lyn Noland
Keb
Lyn Noland is an Emmy-award winning camera woman and a sculptor. Lyn has turned her artistic focus to the design of figures using recycled materials. Her works are whimsical, three-dimensional, free-standing sculptures that combine both found objects and those created by her own hands.
“Little Monsters” was conceived on a trip to the Gullah Islands in South Carolina when Lyn stumbled upon a box of discarded fishing hooks, bottle caps, an ice-cream scoop, radio tubes, burned out fuses, electronic wires, and spark plugs. Lyn used these items- and others like them- to transform ordinary objects into caricatures, both real and fantastic.
Lyn Noland’s previous work, “Shrines” was exhibited as a one-woman show at SMA Gallery in New York City in 1999. It was also shown at OH BOY! In Chicago that same year. “Little Monsters” made its debut in 2007 at the 11th Annual Art Under the Bridge Festival.
Lyn, who grew up in a family of artists, is the daughter of abstract expressionist painter, Kenneth Noland and the sister of sculptor, Cady Noland.
