Rental Information


Availability

Muriel Guépin Gallery is a commercial fine art gallery in Brooklyn, New York. The gallery is available for lectures, community meetings, private and business parties, photo / film shootings, fundraising galas, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties and more. Our changing exhibits of original contemporary art will make a stunning backdrop for your event in this light, airy and sophisticated setting. Nineteen century wood beams and metal columns, high ceilings, parquet floor, some exposed bricks walls and a small garden, further enhance what is already a flowing and well-designed gallery space.

The 2,500 sq foot gallery is available for rent after 6 PM Monday through Sunday. A separate room of approximately 500 sq foot is available for rent on an hourly basis. Full day rental and two or more day rentals are available on request. All art exhibitions will be left intact for the event –unless specifically agreed with the gallery. Muriel Guépin Gallery is a 
non-smoking facility. This policy is strictly enforced. However, our garden is available for outside smoking.

Capacity 


The maximum capacity of Muriel Guépin Gallery is 120 people for a stand-up event and 80 people for a comfortable sit-down dinner. The separate 500 sq foot room can accommodate 20 seating people and about 40 people for a stand-up event.

Layout and Direction 


The gallery located on the ground floor level at 47 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, New York 11201. It is approximately 2,500 sq. ft. There is one bathroom in the gallery as well as an industrial sink for the convenience of your caterers.

The gallery is easily accessible by car, and is only a couple of blocks away from the Brooklyn Bridge and the Atlantic Avenue Exit on the BQE. Subway access is very convenient, with the F train stop –Bergen Street- located on the same block. Other convenient subway stops include Hoyt Street, on the 2-3 subway line. 


Rental Fee 


• Rental fee is $125 per hour with a 4-hour minimum requirement for the entire gallery space. Rental rates after 9 pm are $200 per hour.
• Our full day rental rate is $1,000 (maximum of 12 hours).
• 2 days or more rental rates are available on request.
• A deposit of $300.00 is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
 An additional $1,000 security deposit is required.
• After-event cleaning is provided by the gallery for a $100.00 fee.
• An additional $25/hour fee is required to pay for an employee of Muriel Guepin Gallery to be present at the time of the event.

Payment Method


Upon approval of the application, the balance of the rental fee and all
other charges will be due two days prior to the date of rental. We accept American Express, 
Mastercard, or Visa. All checks are to be made payable to Muriel Guépin Gallery. 


Set-up / Cleaning

Set up and cleaning time must be included within the rental fees. Any additional times required must be paid for at the rental rate of $125 per hour or $200 after 9 pm.

Alcohol Policy


Bartenders must be professional and obey the laws pertaining to the serving of alcoholic beverages as well as be responsible for bringing 
bottles and glasses to the outside trash bin.

Catering Set-up


The work area in the back of the gallery can be used for holding and heating of off site prepared foods. The gallery does not provide catering, sound equipment, tables or chairs. We have no restrictions on how these arrangements are made and with whom. Self-catering is allowed and we can recommend some caterers if needed.

On the days that Muriel Guépin Gallery is open, event planner/caterers may not begin setting up until 6:00 p.m. Exceptions will be considered. Event planner/caterers are responsible for unloading, setting up, and reloading all their goods. Caterers are to provide all necessary tools such as trash bags, can openers, foil, pots, towels, dish detergent, knives, and other supplies necessary to carry out their duties. All garbage must be disposed of in dumpsters located at the side of 55 Bergen Street. Employees of Muriel Guépin Gallery are not responsible for set up or breakdown of furniture and fixtures, nor are they responsible for serving or clearing food or drink. Any furnishings used for an event (personal or rented) must be cleared from the gallery space immediately following the event. If it is not convenient for the lessee to remove them from the premises at the close of the event, the items may be temporarily placed in the rear of the Gallery to be picked up no later than 9 a.m. the following day. Any exceptions require prior approval. Employees of Muriel Guépin Gallery are obligated to the artists to ensure display of the art for the duration of the exhibition. Alteration to the exhibition is prohibited; this includes, but is not limited to, any decorations that hang on the wall or interfere with the art, or decorations that obstruct the view of the exhibit from the window. Exceptions require prior approval.

The lessee is financially responsible for any property damage to Muriel Guépin Gallery or any damage to the artwork exhibited in the gallery that occurs during the rental. Any damaged artwork must be paid for in full, regardless of the degree of damage.
